Since 1982, Northern Churches Care (NCC) has consistently served Colorado Springs through its emergency crisis support programs. NCC administers a variety of programs including rental and utility assistance, food, clothing and transportation vouchers, medical and prescription co-pays, legal advice and tax preparation. Additionally, NCC provides spiritual support through prayer and by connecting individuals and families to caring Christian Communities. Currently, NCC provides services to 15 zip code areas encompassing 71% of the population of Colorado Springs and provides services to all of Colorado Springs with several programs.

The Pikes Peak Workforce Center(PPWFC) is part of a nationwide network of workforce centers, serving El Paso and Teller Counties. PPWFC adult and youth programs are aimed at improving the employability of job seekers. The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) was created to help adults and youth who lack marketable job skills gain the necessary skills to find and keep employment. Out-of-school youth who may not have completed their diploma requirements can find help getting their GED or getting back into school. If eligible, youth may receive help with career assessments, tutoring and study skills, tuition assistance, leadership training, mentoring, occupational training, apprenticeships and more.

LEAPis a federally funded program and is designed to help eligible low-income households with winter home heating costs. LEAP is not intended to pay the entire cost of home heating. LEAP benefits are available to all eligible persons without regard to race, color, sex, age, handicap, national origin, political beliefs or religious beliefs. The LEAP program eligibility period runs from Nov. 1 through April 30.
Project COPE- has been providing assistance to customers facing utility disconnection. The Colorado Springs Utilities Foundation works closely with not-for-profit organizations throughout the city to manage the program and administer funds to neighbors in need.
HEAP The Home Efficiency Assistance Program (HEAP) is a partnership between Colorado Springs Utilities and the Energy Resource Center (ERC). This program provides free energy and water efficiency improvements for qualified residential customers which translates into cost savings on customers' monthly utilities bill. All HEAP services are free except furnace replacement.

Under the umbrella of the Christian Healing Network (a 501(c)(3) non-profit), several Colorado Springs individuals were led by God to open a free clinic (Mission Medical Clinic) that would serve as a caring and loving environment for healing. The long-term goal was to provide three areas of care - medical, dental, and psychological. Continuing care for chronic conditions would be a major area of emphasis.
The clinic provides medical care and medications for all patients who qualify. Patients show income verification that they fall at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. Chronic illness is a major focus of the clinic.
